home... eventually

We were told that it would never work. We were told that we were aiming too high and that we were out of our depth. But dispite all this doubt, there didnt seem to be any real problems when filming our Home project. I'm not saying that the results will be perfect, but I personally found the whole thing a positive and enjoyable experience, an opinion I think most of us would agree on.

My group chose to film a series of different situations, each portraying a different persons idea of where they feel at home. We wanted to keep the overall look of the film as flowing as possible, a process which resulted in some beautiful shots, from using dance (thanks to the stunning Hattie!) to building an other-worldly childrens den in Michaels grandparents front room! I would also like to take this oppertunity to thank Charlotte who has a real talent for looking really sad at parties. And of course Sam for not shaving. You make a wonderful traveller. Oh and the dog with the name I can't spell.

I've learned alot from this shoot, it being our first proper shoot and all.
- as a director I really need to find my voice. I wasn't really the most confident in the group and I think that made me slightly uncomfortable with the term 'director' at first. I tend to shy away from major roles, however, I did see the whole thing as a challenge and at times I even found myself putting my ideas forward and having the final say, as I'm sure we all did at one point.
- there probably wasn't any need for us to go all the way to Loch Lomand, although I am actually glad we did because it was in the end a lovely location which made the most sense to film there.
- always film more than you have to. We got to the point when we were editing where we weren't sure if we had enough for a two minuite film. It's best to be safe than sorry I think.

All we need now is to edit, and soon we can show off the fruits of our labour =]
